First of all, hydrangeas are my favorite flower that my Green Thumb Grandpa grew in his garden. His bushes were huge!! It was my job to replace the hydrangeas that Grandma set in her oversized crystal vase in the sunroom with fresh flowers. So, obvious heartstrings connections!! What appeals to me about this print is the interpretation of the blossom, with it's strong Japanese vibe. Also, the way the blossoms essentially "crowd out" the stems is so close to how my grandfather's bushes looked (all flower showing, no stems visible). It just makes it ever more dear to me. And the colors are so sweet and endearing!!
