Bring in the light with this stunning, hand-stamped batik top!
- 100% cotton hand-blocked batik made in Ghana and stitched in Kenya
- Note: this fabric is hand-blocked and dyed, so the design on each dress will vary

In order to create a batik fabric, recycled wax is melted and applied to the fabric using a stamped pattern. Edwina carves each stamped design herself in foam, which is easier to repurpose and work with than wood. Together with several women in Accra, Ghana, Edwina and her team always create designs that play on both pattern and layered color in a truly original way. Since we began working together in 2018, we've produced over 40 unique textiles together, keeping them in continuous production since we started. Happy to see more batik prints this year and especially in the shirts. I almost always prefer batik shirts over dresses - I get more use out of them year round since they’re easy to layer.
I got to try this shirt over the new batik pants as well - they look good together, but I didn’t purchase the pants. The shirt has a similar deep teal shade but leans more green. The pattern looks a little bit like abstract brtamboo stalks and they’re slightly offset the way the pattern was stamped. I would so wear these two pieces together as loungewear/pajamas if I was feeling fancy. They’re so comfortable. I literally wanted to lie down in them lol!
Looking forward to seeing what other batiks will be released this year. They’re my favorite from Zuri.

I love my Window pane top. The 3x top runs a bit larger than the 3x dresses on me so I may by a 2x top next time.
