This shirt looks great from all angles!
- 100% cotton hand-blocked batik made in Ghana and stitched in Kenya
- Note: this fabric is hand-blocked and dyed, so the design on each dress will vary
- Color Notes: hot pink and white
- Button fastening through front
- Machine wash cold with like colors
- Fits true to size, take your normal size
- Airy fit, cut to be worn loose and stand away from the body
- Mid-weight, non-stretchy fabric
- Model notes: Louise wears a M, Jaz wears a L, Kym wears a M
In order to create a batik fabric, recycled wax is melted and applied to the fabric using a stamped pattern. Edwina carves each stamped design herself in foam, which is easier to repurpose and work with than wood. Together with several women in Accra, Ghana, Edwina and her team always create designs that play on both pattern and layered color in a truly original way. Since we began working together in 2018, we've produced over 40 unique textiles together, keeping them in continuous production since we started. I tend to favor the shirts with batik fabrics as well as the lightweight linen/cotton fabrics from India that Zuri produces. They’re just so comfortable and easy to wear year round. The pattern of Polygon reminds me of when you fold an origami crane or flower then open it up flat again to see all the angular lines made in the paper. I love the bright watermelon pink color of the dye used in this too.
I hope they make more batik shirts - I just love them ♥️

Ever since we saw this drying in the Kenya sun, I knew I would jump on it! Beautiful color, and I found my piece shows a blending of dye batches , which makes it extra interesting. You should buy this shirt. So pretty, you may have eyes on you!
