These textiles are a part of our 100% Made in Kenya collection and were printed in Kenya on Kenyan grown cotton. The print was designed by Shadé Akanbi. Raised in the Bay Area, Shadé credits her Nigerian-American upbringing and extensive international travels as her main creative influences for designing. Now based in Brooklyn, Shadé is the Creative Director and Designer of Printed Pattern People and it's a true joy to be able to share her work with you!
The ecosystem for rotary printed fabrics is complex and truly global. While it's rare to see a rotary printed textile produced in a closed-circuit, farm-to-shop supply chain, the fabrics we're producing are verifiably 100% made in Kenya. Not just traceable, but local. Not just identifiable, but ethical and accountable.
Our production impacts hundreds of smallholder farmers and their families each year. It impacts young Kenyan artists whose voices and work may now have a slightly bigger audience (and fan club:) ). It impacts the Kenyan textile manufacturing industry, which for years has been out-competed in the local market by imported fabrics. Finally, it impacts you, because you can know that your dress was made ethically, honestly, and with pride.

The ability to wear this top 'buttons in the front' OR 'buttons in the back' is like having two different tank tops... it's a top perfect on its own in warmer weather or layered with a Zuri dress... layering is perfect for this sleeveless style... I also love the colours.

Great shirt. Reversible, cute colours and comfortable to wear. My spouse likes it and I even received a compliment the first day wearing it. I am 5'8 and its a little short, but I think it's stylish at that length. I normally wear and XS in Zuri, but I ordered and XXS based on the size chart. It fit but was a little close. I think I could have sized up, but keeping it anyway since I am concerned it would be too large at the bigger size.

My sleeveless top is a delight. I have a choice of wearing it two ways I chose the buttons down the front It was such a warm day and felt so cool and comfortable in the top. Can’t wait for others to arrive. I hope x

Great color combination! Looks great either direction worn. I will sew in the sides to taper it smaller as it is too wide for me, but I still love this item!

I love this top but … I have 4 other Zuri pieces. 3 dresses and 1 top size L This top is snug across my breast. And the top seam gaps over my shoulders. I tried and XL and it is too big and it gaps at the top of my shoulders and at the arms. So I am back to the L that is snug. I hope the cut is not changing. I will have to alter the top so it sits on my shoulders. Maybe it will settle when washed. I hope it does not shrink.
