It is very beautiful. It flatters me. It is wearable. I might not dash to the corner store in it, but any meeting, travel, concert, presentation, wedding, church event, or evening out will keep it from being forgotten in my closet. The silhouette fits just right; with that first-rate construction and sewing, it comprises a new stage of Zuri, after the also-perfect fit and shape of the regular Zuris. This new look would go completely formal, although I for one don’t do that, any more. (I.e., I don’t “keep” the shoes etc. for formal dress.) The print is excellent, sophisticated and dazzling, not showy or busy, and as always, prettier than depicted online; it tends towards fall, but is actually seasonless. The sash is much appreciated! I will wear it at my waist or as a sensational headband, with the dress. Same, plus as a scarf, with many other garments. Suede or velvet or satin or taffeta sashes in browns, blues, oranges, burgundies, etc, will also be seen with the dress on me, from time to time! I am so very glad Zuri has started this maxi style! From my experiences, I consider it to be even more deeply African than the lovely A-lines. (NB: I am Caucasian and I taught philosophy in an HBCU in the south for 42 years, and I lived in that community. My one glorious summer of research with eight colleagues in Senegal turned into, in part, intensive learning about African textiles and design.)
