Meet our production partner, SOKO Kenya! Based in Kikambala on the Kenyan coast, they are an ethical manufacturer that truly embraces a fair, kind and transparent work culture. In addition to paying above living wages, SOKO Kenya provides employees with paid leave and stipends for family emergencies, free pre-primary childcare for all employees with children from ages 2-4, daily mid-morning tea and midday lunch, and clear, outlined processes for job advancement. We work with an incredible network of fabric vendors in Dar es Salaam and Nairobi to source textiles. Over the years and many hundreds of prints, we've learned a lot about how to select fabrics. I'm attracted to the orange, purple and red colors in this shirt. Glad that I have socks and shoes that match the shirt; hopefully, the purple (amethyst) shoes I ordered will match it, too.

Initially I thought this was a nice shirt but not for me. Then on a visit to the Fillmore store when I was trying on a number of dresses, I added this to the stack and was completely smitten - the purple of the shirt was a great match for the dress I was wearing and I was totally taken with the whole look. The shirt is a smooth, lightweight cotton fabric, very comfortable on the skin, with a vibrant orange, green, purple, and white pattern that I find suitable for daytime or evening wear. Zuri doesn’t have many shirts or dresses with this amount of white and I think it will be perfect in summer as well as winter.

Love the unique color combo and the material is soft! The arms are a little smaller and the sleeves a little shorter compared to my other Zuri shirts, but it still works.

I love the fabric on this shirt. It seems almost silky to me. The colors and pattern is fun and vibrant. I did find this shirt to be a size larger than other Zuri shirts I have purchased.

Totally didn’t mean to match my lipstick to the plummy purple in this shirt (Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink in “Believer”), when I tried it on, but it is that purple which is my favorite thing about this print. I feel I wouldn’t love it as much otherwise. It adds a burst of vividness to an otherwise earthy palette and keeps it from looking like fiesta ware or ceramic tile.
A little torn over the red squares against the green - I’m getting holiday elf or court jester vibes…I almost want to sew little bells on the bottom point of each red and green square.
Gonna think about this one a bit and revisit later. I may end up exchanging it for something I love more.
