These textiles are a part of our 100% Made in Kenya collection and were printed in Kenya on Kenyan grown cotton. The print was designed by Lulu Kitololo. A few words from Lulu: "I’m incredibly thrilled to see my work on fabric and for it to be such an intimate part of the lives of those who wear it. I’ve always wanted to explore my work on textiles and I’m excited to be doing this with a brand whose ethos and spirit is so aligned with mine."

Meet our production partner, SOKO Kenya! Based in Kikambala on the Kenyan coast, they are an ethical manufacturer that truly embraces a fair, kind and transparent work culture. The ecosystem for rotary printed fabrics is complex and truly global. While it's rare to see a rotary printed textile produced in a closed-circuit, farm-to-shop supply chain, the fabrics we're producing are verifiably 100% made in Kenya. Not just traceable, but local. Not just identifiable, but ethical and accountable.
Our production impacts hundreds of smallholder farmers and their families each year. It impacts young Kenyan artists whose voices and work may now have a slightly bigger audience (and fan club:) ). It impacts the Kenyan textile manufacturing industry, which for years has been out-competed in the local market by imported fabrics. Finally, it impacts you, because you can know that your dress was made ethically, honestly, and with pride.

I've had my eye on this print for awhile, and I'm so glad I bought it before it disappeared. It's a beautiful shade of red, and the white blebs look like coral to me. The mandarin collar is very flattering, and I love that I can wear it as a dress or a colorful coat.

The base color for ultramarine is quite unique .. I love blue and purple color and the base for this dress is such a beautiful mix of both the colors .. the color of the pattern is an almost a fluorescent pop .. the dress to me is a beautiful starry night !!!!
This dress was love at first sight!! This dress is for all seasons and all kind of occasions - work, travel, meet friends, flights, eat out, day out, daily walk, hang out at home! It is very comfortable.
Zuri dresses are:
-easy to maintain .. I quickly hand wash the dress or sometimes throw in the machine. I dry them on a drying rack and do not iron my dresses .. just as I spread it on the rack .. I press or straighten wrinkles with my hand while the dress is wet / damp.
-fabric is good quality, the dresses are well made and sustainable
-I appreciate their business practices
-the dresses are forgiving .. this is my first choice on a day I am bloated or in flights
-love the pockets as I move from one room to another in the office for meetings
-I call them my mood lifter or happy dresses

I only wear ZURI clothing when I vacation in Africa because the designs feel authentic, vibrant, and perfect for the destination.
